GTQ is the ISO code for the Guatemalan Quetzal. Is it named after Guatamala's national bird, the Resplendent Quetzal, who's tailfeathers were once used as currency. It is divided into 100 centavos.

Currently circulating coins are 1, 5, 10, 25, and 50 centavos as well as 1 quetzal. Currently circulating banknotes are 1/2, 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, and 200 quetzals. Larger notes are under consideration.
