October Retail Sales

Stocks rose from the beginning of the session when the government reported October retail sales were at their highest level in seven months. (Read more at Millennium-Traders.Com)

Economic data released today:

Retail Sales (MoM):
September Retail & Food Sales Revised to rise 0.7% from an increase by 0.6%; U.S. October Retail & Food Sales Ex-Autos rose 0.4%; U.S. October Retail & Food Sales rose 1.2%; Compared to Consensus of an increase by 0.8%.

New York Empire State Manufacturing Index:
New York Fed November Prices Received fell 2.60 versus 8.33 in October; New York Fed November Employment 9.09 versus 21.67 in October; New York Fed's November Manufacturing Index fell 11.14 versus 15.73 in October; New York Fed November New Orders fell 24.38 versus 12.90 in October.

Business Inventories (MoM):
U.S. September Business Inventories rose 0.9%; was expected to rise 0.6%.
