What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned from a significant loss while scalping, and how did it shape your approach going forward?

One major lesson I learned from a significant scalping loss is the importance of not overleveraging. Early in my trading journey, I used high leverage to maximize profits, but a sudden market shift wiped out a substantial portion of my account. Since then, I've adopted stricter risk management practices, using lower leverage and setting tighter stop-loss orders to protect my capital. This approach has led to more consistent results and reduced stress during trading

A brutal loss taught me that in scalping, speed is nothing without precision. I once chased momentum, convinced I could outpace the market, only to realize I was the one being outpaced. That hit made me rethink everything. Now, I trade with discipline: predefined exits, no overleveraging, and zero emotional trades. The market doesn’t reward impulse; it rewards execution.

One of the biggest lessons I learned from a significant loss while scalping was the importance of not forcing trades in low-quality conditions. I entered out of boredom during a slow market, ignored my setup rules, and got caught in a reversal. Since then, I’ve become more selective with entries, wait for clear signals, and focus on quality over quantity. That loss taught me that discipline and patience are just as important as speed in scalping.
