That is BS, FPA conflict of interest, they are suppose to protect traders not sell them out. Very sad to see...
The FPA does not support or endorse advertisers. Advertisers support the FPA.
Reviews don't moderate themselves. Forums don't administer themselves. The number of man hours the FPA uses trying to resolve issues and get traders paid is large. Hosting a website of this size and complexity isn't free. Protection from DDoS attacks and hackers isn't free, but it saved the site from multiple attacks in the last 24 hours.
Would you prefer that the FPA charge a membership fee or fees for posting complaints? How much should the FPA charge for assisting in email negotiations with companies? How much are you willing to pay to end the need for advertisers?
A large part of my job is to contain any possible conflicts of interest. My forums login blocks banners, so I often don't even know who has an active ad contract. The same applies to review moderator logins. If I do know that a company is advertising, then it gets the worst interpretation for any reviews that are borderline instead of the best.
Before a company gets to negotiate a contract, I'm told. I give one of 3 answers...
1. Yes
2. No
3. Smaller, shorter term contracts only.
I base this decision on how I've seen the company perform so far in terms of reviews and also how they've handled complaints. The sponsorship of Sive's gold signals was a small contract of short duration. It was renewed at least once. There had been no serious complaints at that point.
After that, I don't bother to check and see if the ad department closed a deal or not.
When a company does get into severe trouble with the FPA, I ask the ad department if there's a contract. If there is, this doesn't save the company. Instead, I tell the company that their contract may be suspended or cancelled if they don't get into good faith negotiations to resolve issues with FPA members. If that doesn't lead to real negotiations, I'm the one who gives the orders to suspend or cancel the contract. I've done it before. I'm sure I'll do it again.
If I wanted to sell out, I could have retired years ago. I'd be a rich man now if I didn't turn down 100% the bribe attempts.
Please stop dragging this thread off topic. Instead, go ahead and start your own free forex reviews and forums site. Make sure to provide everything the FPA has and more. Avoid any possible connections to any company which might later scam clients. Once you show how much better your site is than the FPA, I'll apply to come work for you.
If that doesn't suit you, I have another proposition for you. Quit your job and spend your time finding companies that you are certain will never scam FPA members or go bankrupt in a way that takes money from traders. Then convince these companies to sign big advertising contracts with the FPA. Make sure to pledge to all FPA members that you will make certain that the companies you get contracts from will be enough to keep the FPA going. I also expect you to pledge that you will personally cover any losses from future scams or bankruptcies from any of these companies.
How soon do you think you can start?
