FOREX PRO Weekly, March 07-11, 2011

Hello Mr Morten
thanks for the Great analysis as usual. I see in some of your Tech Analysis for some while now that incumbing factors as Some kind of report like non farm for example does not refect on your analysis in a major way in the long run of course. I am baffled how it is so in the long run meaning, yes they have an immediate reponse when report or factor is out but then everything goes back to as the way it should be, according to your analysis.
I also follow Mr Liu and for him those influential factors seems to the the cathalist basis for trading in one direction or the other. Meaning you have an analysis there where trading depends heavily on the factor of influence that is about to come

Based on all that i would like to know why these factors do not play a great role in your analysis and you stick mostly to the maths of the equation like FIb support and retracment levels.

for me it is strange...two systems and both work soundly to a near accurate measure

Thanks again for sticking to Eur USD this week

Always a pleasure to read!

Really like Georgette says and as usual a 'pure joy' to work with your analysis..

Hang around a little bit Kenneth and you will pick up the answers to your questions! Good luck

Sive,

It appears we have a DRPO on the weekly chart of the CHF/USD. Butterly just beyond the market.

What do you think? :)

Hi, Jyotiprakash Pal

Gartley '222' consists of initial thrust up/down X-A and AB-CD retracement. Usually D point is a Buy/Sell area (depending from the direction of pattern). D point could not be outside of XA swing. '222' means just the page number in his book where he wrote about this pattern.

:D thanks sir loads of help .. i am falling in love with harmonics :) worth end of my weekend with books :)

Hi Guys,

Hello Mr Morten

Well, if let me to express my opinion about fundamentals... Henry makes an excellent work with marco data releases. But - the core of his strategy is not just, say NFP number and how it stands in a row with pace of US economy recovery etc.. In fact, Henry's strategy stands on just surprise effect - how number deviates from expectations. THis strategy does not focus particularly on the number. So, this is not a fundamental analysis.
Concerning my analysis - it's purely technical. Still, when the number of important data and event becomes solid - I usually include "Fundamentals" part in research (as during previous week).
There are some reasons for that. There are few people here who may be trade monthly, weekly time frames (I do not). Fundamental analysis is very useful precisely form this long-term periods. But most people trade intraday or at daily basis - fundamental analysis hardly influence the trade, that lasts from some hours to couple of days... even a week.
And why all these stuff works? Because price also shows expectations, hopes and fears, and it includes the anticipation by participants some data (I'm telling about tendency but not doom and gloom during release time).

Well, it's impossible to tell you just everything in one post. Try to watch and read. I use almost the same collection of tools every time, so soon you will understand them.
Also I recommend you to move gradually through our Forex Military school. Currently it seems simple, but soon we will turn to very useful and advanced analysis.

Hi, Rick
Hm... I do not see any DRPO there... Can you show me what do you see?
Butterfies are still valid - as weekly as monthly...

Re: "Also I recommend you to move gradually through our Forex Military school."

Sive,
I guess I must have missed something you mentioned earlier. If this school exists somewhere on the web("military!" very relevant concept in these troubled times) could you provide a link?
Thank you

Sive,

The attached is DAILY CHART of USD/CHF showing DRPO. White line is 3x3. Fib 1.27 of recent swing highs is shown just below the market. What do you think? Thanks in advance.

Hi, Rick
On Daily yes, this could be a DRPO. But I prefer to see new low, because Butterfly target is below the market. It just gives me more confidence that DRPO probably will work.
