If you're trading based on reversal movement so trend is not your friend because you will wait for reversal movement to open position in order to maximize profit when you entry position. But it is right,all traders must know the beginning and the end of the trend so they could make preparation for entry or exit from the market so they could minimize the loss if the market doesn't move as your expectation.
