Demo VS Live

latency can be reduced if a brokerages bridge is connected to a prime server like Equinix that is very near to Wall street

I was just wondering “why do I always make huge/good profits on my demo account”.

Traders feel no fear while trading in demo, no emotional feelings attached at all while on the other hand traders become more curious and without fear can't make trades. If traders overcome fear factor and follow the discipline then definitely earn profit in live account.

Demo and live separate mainly from emotions, psychology and mentality. If we can do demo assuming live we can be successful in live trading

Emotions? Its much easier to follow a specific strategy with entry/exits on demo, because you have no fear and less greed... thats my personal experience..

Emotions are part of it. Another part is that demos aren't pulling from any real pool of liquidity, so are much less subject to slippage, requotes, and no-fills. Ask your broker to set you up with a really large balance in a demo and place a trade for 1000 lots during a time of very low liquidity (pick an exotic pair and do it 5 minutes before the market closes on Friday) and you'll get an instant fill on your order. Do you think that would happen with a real account?

I don't think so, you should know demo and live have some differences as:
- Server fast execution
- Spreads
- Money you invest and trade. Demo you can try 1000 and no important but 1000$ live is more difficult.
- ...

So if you can do good with demo, please try to get familiar to live trading then you can earn profit.

Not really. Traders experience fear/greed and emotions even on demo. The difference is emotions on demo are toned down, close to zero, because there is no real accountability and risks involved.

Demo accounts are very important before trading on live account. It will prepare you to perform well in your live trading account because you will have the trust on your strategies and experience and confidence in your trading.
