I fully agree with you Nancy, no point trying to run before you can crawl, let alone walk!

So, if I understand you and others everywhere correctly, the MT4 is pretty much useless without any of these trading "attachments", that Metaquotes have produced a basic skeleton which really only comes into its own once you add their (preferably) EAs...at a great cost. The manufacturer is hopping to interest "lazy" traders who neither have the time nor the inkling to actually learn to trade FX, that hear of great promises of wonderful returns on investment only to be disappointed, going by all the failed robots I have read about.

What therefore is the + point of the MT4? If I learn to trade correctly, have many tried and tested strategies working wll for me on my broker's own platform, what is going to make me move over to the MT if I don't want to spend money adding things. I mean, if like I said I am trading pretty content on a platform that does not require me to add things, why move over? Should I bother?

Freedom! The MT4 EA's allow a Trader the freedom to leave your computer terminal w/o fear. You no longer have to babysit your trading session. As far as being lazy-well maybe-as I dig my toes in the sands of Malibu Beach I DO feel lazy at times(as I write this post my EA is up 254 pips today alone) I no longer bring my computer to these beach outings as the 1st time proved fatal to my laptop. ( MT4 Stats - Share your MetaTrader 4 Statements with the world ) follow this link for daily stats-Demo account performance. I dont wait for the "Market" to get to an "entry" level because I no longer have too. As long as my computer stays on and connected ( I need a VPS ) my EA will do the Entries/Management/Exits for every trade. These are only a few of the cool things this program does. BTW, this EA was programmed using my 4-5 years of Forex trading experience and my exact manual trading method. In other words,it only does what I would do anyway if I were in front of my computer 24/7.

BTW, with the immense success of the FAPTurbo robots (Pharaoh says "EA" is a Metaquotes name, all others should be called robots), does MTQ feel that their thunder has been stolen I wonder...hmmmm, I bet some MTQ nerd is working on a better version to kill of the competition, result...better trading systems for the trader we hope. OK ernest, you have convinced me to try out my broker's new MT4 when it becomes available in a couple of weeks, even though I am very comfortable with their own java and web...hey, I can always just demo trade it.

I think Evolution is a mutant EA that evolved to work on a different platform.

Should be entertaining to watch and see how well it works. 2-4 weeks of live beta testing looks encouraging, but I want to see at least 3 or 4 months of returns.

MT5 is somewhere in the pipeline. Should be entertaining to see if it's backwards compatible with all the MT4 EAs.

Always remember - your artificially intelligent trading robots are never too far away from going berserk and saying "KILL ALL HUMANS".

Believe me bro- I followed the WELL traveled Forex road. I have made EVERY mistake along the way. I still dont trust this Market(because POS Broker crooks have made it that way) but just cant seem to leave it. If I didnt like programming so much - I would still be in Florida mopping a Hot Tar roof somewhere. Everyone's Forex experience will differ to a point. At the end of your journey , you will either be broke or hooked. I am hooked and Forex is my Crack. Hope you break your broker-good luck and happy trading.

Paolo iv been trading forex a while and never heard of this firm and i know a lot of serious traders dont like the mail shots that get sent out to every man and his dog. if you are serious about learning how to trade there are a few sites i can recommend?

Hello all, just read the comment by ken Long regarding the IvyBot he purchased, and the fact that why not give it a shot for a month, well he is right as it is a free demo period. To be honest I wanted to say that I am quietly rubbing my hands at the thought of getting my hands on your bot Ernest, from the things I read that you write, it may actually be the first real bot to be developed by a person who has the trader at heart, by one who has reached where he is with a lot of blood sweat and tears on brokers platforms. Well, if and when it comes out, would love to twin it up with the ACm MT, sure that will be a great system. Any idea how much you would be looking for each bot Ernest? I ask because as you seem to be a man of the people, I would expect you not to try and make 210% profit per bot!
