Discuss is for general discussions of a financial company or issues related to companies.

Info is for things like "Has anyone heard of Company X?" or "Is Company X legit or not?"

Compare is for things like "Which of these 2 (or more) companies is best?"

Searching is for things like "Help me pick a broker" or "What's the best VPS out there for trading?"

Problem is for reporting an issue with a company. Please don't just scream "CompanyX is a scam!" It is much more useful to say "I can't withdraw my money from Company X" or "Company Y is not honoring their refund guarantee" in the subject line.
Keep Problem discussions civil and lay out the facts of your case. Your goal should be to get your problem resolved or reported to the regulators, not to see how many insults you can put into the thread.

    More info coming soon.

General discussions of a financial company
hah, whenever you think that you said smth really wise, it turns out smone more famous has already said that before and made a fortune following the own principle.
I do hope though to do the same. Actually, the plan works fine so far ;)

Good to know. Wish you all the good luck to complete the mission. Nevertheless, I think that in trading consistency matters much more than a single successful trade or plan. Markets change. Plans have to change along with them. Hunger is eternal.

Don't worry, I do have tons of plans and ideas, but thanks anyway. I just wanted to make sure the broker really withdraws the profits and plays fairly. So far it all indicates there are no reasons to worry. At least if you are not making millions on the monthly basis. We will see if I can check that with my own experience too LOL

Exploring the topic of brokers that don't withdraw huge profits and trying to look at it from all the possible perspectives I came to a conclusion that there are basically two possible scenarios.
Sorry if it sounds too banal but in case profits haven't been withdrawn this means:
  • a broker cheats
  • a trader cheats
I know that here we tend to take traders' side and I do too! The number of scam projects exceeds all the limits! Nevertheless I am truly amazed with the number of discussions where traders explore the opportunities to find some brokerage vulnerabilities that they can exploit to make a lot of money. I believe most of these opportunities lie in arbitrage field.
In case the broker forbids arbitrage (which is the case with AAFX) the attempts to use such strategies may be the reason why broker can refuse to withdraw huge profits made by arbitrage trading.

hey, isn't the broker responsible for limiting arbitrage on a technical level? and what if your EA looks like arbitrage but in fact its not?

True! It can really look like or be an arbitrage strategy. I guess if it comes to a dispute, sharing the EA code with the party responsible for resolving the dispute can help. I doubt though that a trader will be eager to share the EA code with anyone. Especially a successful EA's code.

may I disturb this conversation please to ask why don't I see any stocks in the list of the instruments. It seemed AAFX trading includes stocks but why can't I see any in the platform?

Which trading platform do you use? Stock trading is available with MT5 as far as I'm concerned.
In any case, AAFX is not the best broker ever for trading stocks. There is 10% margin requirement and the list of the avaialble ones is not that big. Just a few dozens I guess. Less than 100 items for sure.

ah, so that's what the problem was. I've been trying MT4 platform. thanx!
The margin requirements are not a problem. I just wanted to see if I could use the same broker to daytrade currencies and at the same time purchase a few stocks longterm. The recent Facebook issue also made me think whether I could take advantage of the situation somehow to grab some quick profits on fundamentals.

In this case you can simply switch to MT5. The platform is no worse than the earlier version and even has got some advantages like DoM (daytraders will appreciate).
Currencies trading really is favorable here in terms of spreads. Difficult to find tighter ones with no additional commissions.
