USD/JPY - 109.23.. Dlr remains on the back foot in subdued Asian trading following selloff on Monday from 109.77 (Asia) to as low as 109.19 in New York morning as selloff in U.S. yields triggered broad-based yen buying.

As Monday's weakness suggests re-test of July's 7-week trough at 109.07 would be seen after consolidation, break would extend decline from July's 111.65 peak to 108.80/90, reckon daily sup at 108.57 should remain intact.
Offers are tipped at 109.35/40 with stops above 109.60.
Bids are noted at 109.20-10 with stops touted below 109.00.

On the data front, U.S. will release redbook sales, factory orders n then durable goods order. U.S. Fed Governor Bowman is scheduled to speak at a virtual research seminar at 18:00GMT.

USD/JPY - 109.05.. Dlr swung broadly sideways in choppy Asian trading after tumbling on Tuesday to a 2-month trough of 108.88 in New York morning, weighed down by decline in U.S. yields n active cross-buying of yen in New York session.

As 109.15 (New York high) has capped intra-day recovery, outlook remains bearish for July's 15-month peak at 111.65 to head to next daily chart targets at 108.57, then 108.35 after consolidation.
Offers are tipped at 109.10/15 with stops above 109.20 while bids are noted at 108.95-90 with stops below 108.85.

On the data front, pay attention to U.S. ADP private payrolls, U.S. later will release Markit services PMI n ISM non-mfg PMI.
We also have Fed's Clarida and Dalls Fed President Kaplan (non-voter) scheduled to speak at 14:00GMT n 18:00GMT respectively.

EUR/USD - 1.1833.. Euro remains under pressure in Asia following Wednesday's selloff from 1.1899 to 1.1834 in New York morning on broad-based usd's rally as despite intra-day jump to 1.1899 after downbeat U.S. ADP private payrolls, release of robust US ISM non-mfg index which hit a record high n then Fed Clarida's hawkish comments caught the market wrong footed n triggered a ferocious broad-based short covering rally in the greenback.

As Wednesday's renewed usd's strength continues to weigh of the single currency, a daily close below 1.1800 handle would strongly suggest correction from July's 3-1/2 month bottom at 1.1753 has ended at 1.1909 last Friday n yield further weakness to 1.1771/73.
Offers are tipped at 1.1840/50 n more above with stops reported above 1.1900.
Some bids are noted at 1.1835/30 with some stops below there, more stops are touted below 1.1800.

On the data front, we have German industrial orders, France's industrial output n EU's economic bulletin.

USD/JPY - 109.87.. The pair continues its near term winning streak and climbed to a 1-week high of 109.88 as the greenback caught a light bid at Asian open on the back of intra-day gain in U.S. bids, upside bias remains for upmove from Wednesday's 9-week trough at 108.73 to head to 110.00 handle where a break there would encourage for subsequent headway towards 110.28.

Bids have been raised to 109.75-65 with stops below 109.40 while offers are tipped at 109.90/00 with stops abv 110.00.
While rise from 108.73 suggests recent fall from Jul's 15-month peak at 111.65 has made a low, price is en route towards 110.53 (61.8% r) especially if tonight's blockbuster U.S. NFP number is upbeat and market is also forecasting a drop in unemployment rate.

USD/JPY - 110.21.. Despite Fri's rally to a 10-day high of 110.35 in New York as stronger-than-expected U.S. payrolls n drop in U.S. unemployment rate triggered speculation that the Federal Reserve may act sooner rather than later in tightening its monetary policy, the pair moved sideways in relatively subdued Asian morning as market focus is on other G7 currencies.

As dlr's impressive gain from last Wed's 9-week bottom at 108.73 to as high as 110.35 signals correction from July's 15-month peak at 111.65 has ended, bullishness remains for further headway towards 110.81, Friday's sharp rise in U.S. yields supports this bullish notion.
Bids are noted at 110.20/10 with some stops below 110.00 while offers are tipped at 110.30/40 with some stops touted above there.

After Fri's blockbuster U.S. jobs report, U.S. will release 2nd-tier JOLTS job openings. We have Atlanta President Bostic speaking at a virtual event at 14:10GMT, then Richmond Fed President Barkin will speak at a business luncheon at 15:30GMT.

EUR/USD - 1.1736.. The single currency languishes near intra-day fresh 4-month low of 1.1733 in Asian morning. Although price staged a short-covering rebound from 1.1743 (AUS) to intra-day day high of 1.1768 in New York morning, price tumbled on renewed usd's broad-based strength following upbeat US JOLTS jobs openings n hit 1.1736.

The lack of a rebound in Asia suggests market is eager to test euro's downside n all eyes are on 2021 bottom at 1.1705 (March), there is market chatter of large stops building up below 1.1700.
Offers have been lowered to 1.1750/60 with stops above 1.1770 while bids are noted at 1.1725/15 n more below with option defence at 1.1700 n stops touted below there.

The euro area countries will release a slew of eco. data, pay attention to Germany's ZEW eco. sentiment, ZEW current conditions n then EU's ZEW survey expectations, all at 09:00GMT.

EUR/USD - 1.1725.. The single currency trades narrowly in subdued Asian morning after slumping to a fresh 4-month trough of 1.1710 in New York on Tuesday due to continued usd's strength together with rise in U.S. yields and consolidation is expected to continue until European open.

As yesterday's resumption of recent downtrend signals re-test of 2021 bottom at 1.1705 (March) would be forthcoming next, a daily close below there would bode ill for the euro and yield further weakness to projected target at 1.1653, then towards next daily chart obj. at 1.1603.
Offers are tipped at 1.1735-45 and more above with stops touted above 1.1770 while bids are noted at 1.1705-10 with a mixture bids and stops below 1.1700.

Ahead of key U.S. CPI, Germany and Italy will also release this inflation data in European morning (please refer to our EI page for details).

EUR/USD - 1.1741.. The single currency finally snapped its recent losing streak after hitting a fresh 4-month low at 1.1707 in European morning but option defence n profit taking bids above 2021 bottom at 1.1705 fended off euro bears. Price jumped from 1.1714 to 1.1749 after in-line U.S. CPI due to broad-based usd's weakness, then later to session highs of 1.1753 before easing.

While Wed's rebound signals recent decline has made a temp. low n range trading would continue in European morning, outlook remains mildly bearish for test of 1.1700/05 where stops are reported below there.
Offers are tipped at 1.1750/60 with stops above 1.1770 while bids are noted at 1.1730-20.

Eco. calendar in the euro area countries is pretty light with Italy's trade data n EU's industrial production being the only data due out at 08:00GMT and 09:00GMT respectively.

USD/JPY - 110.40.. Dlr moves narrowly in subdued Asian morning on Friday after trading sideways in directionless Thursday's session, suggesting further sideways swings would continue.

As retreat from Wednesday's 1-month high at 110.79 to 110.32 suggests recent upmove has made a temp. top, consolidation is expected to continue, below 110.32 would bring stronger retracement to 110.10/15 but reckon sup at 110.03 (this week's low on Mon) should hold.
Offers are tipped at 110.50/60 with stops above 110.80 while bids are noted at 110.35/30 and more below with stops reported below 110.00.

T.G.I.F., U.S. will release a slew of eco. data (please refer to our EI page for details), pay attention to University of Michigan consumer confidence, a higher-than-expected reading (forecast is 81.2 vs prev. 81.2) may give the greenback a lift.

EUR/USD - 1.1799.. Euro maintains a firm bias in relatively subdued Asian morning following Friday's rally in New York session to a near 1-week high of 1.0804 due to broad-based usd's weakness on the back of a surprise sharp drop in U.S. consumer confidence.

As Friday's rally above 1.1768 (Monday high, now sup) signals recent downtrend has made a temp. low at Wednesday's fresh 4-month bottom at 1.1707, consolidation with upside bias remains for a long-overdue correction towards 1.1829, break may extend towards 1.1857 later.
Order board is pretty thin on Monday, some bids are noted at 1.1790-80 with some stops touted below 1.1770 while some offers are tipped at 1.1820/30 with stops above there.

There is no eco. data due out from the euro area countries today.
We have Germany's Bundesbank monthly report which will be released some time in European morning.
