NEWBIE JOURNEY

My biggest lesson was losing trade that taught me being "right" on direction doesn't matter if your position size is too big. now i risk max 1-2% per trade, no exceptions. Now I’m less emotional and more consistent.

Best to open up a journal for these cases. If you document each of your trades, in couple of month, you will already have some data to analyze. Of course the best is not just to put a trade screenshot, but also a reasoning behind a trade, and any other inmportant information. Then you can analyze your trades and reveal your weak sides, like maybe too tight SL? Or you keep touching your SL, or maybe TP is unrealistic? And so on, once you find your issues, you can work on them. Same process over and over until you are doing good.

I doubt you will get the lesson from a single losing trade, unless when it wipes your whole account. My first occasion like this was when I opened a trade and didn't know I was supposed to look at calendar to see if any news are out soon. Turns out a cpi or something was dropping but I didn't know, the trade was going well, I went off the charts for an hour or so. And then when I came back, the whole balance was gone, turns out it ignored my SL because it moved like 100 pips in couple of seconds.

Hi everyone
I’ve been trading forex for a while and recently had a tough losing streak.
Instead of seeing it as a failure, I’m trying to collect insights from other traders.
What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned from a losing trade — and how did it change your strategy?

Hoping this can help newer traders (like me) avoid common mistakes and build better risk management habits.
losses usually happnes in the bigining the important is it should be small and lession from losses should be learnt. One way to learn from losses these days are keep trade journal and let AI do analysis, there are some sites one of them which has free service (at least for now) is fxtradeocean.com you lucky that ai analysis were not available when i started
