Yes, when the actual data is greater than the forecast for something like NFP or CPI, it’s usually seen as a buy signal for the currency. But jumping in right away can be risky.

The first few seconds after release are super volatile. Spreads widen; price can spike then reverse fast. It’s often better to wait a minute or two, let the initial move play out, then look for a clean entry if the direction holds.

When the outcome is favorable and the actual figure exceeds expectations, it often signals potential strength for the currency. However, it's wise not to react instantly. Give it a minute or two, sometimes up to five to observe how the market responds. Allow the initial volatility to settle and look for confirmation in direction before making a move.
Be mindful of any spread widening that tends to occur around major releases—it can impact your entry more than expected.

Hey! Usually, if actual data beats forecast, it’s a buy signal. But don’t jump in immediately, wait a few minutes to see how the market reacts. Sometimes it spikes then pulls back so patience helps avoid getting caught in fake moves.

This is where you need to spend some time reading Forex Military School.

Bullish means upwards, bearish means downwards. In forex, Bullish USD would typically make the USDJPY go up, but the EURUSD would go down. You need to firmly understand how the order of currencies in a chart can make things backwards from what you would anticipate.

Also, unexpectedly large data is often bullish. For example. Good NFP numbers means employment is increasing. On the other hand, UNemployment filings being larger that expected are not a reason to throw a party for the economy.

Reading Forex Military School will give you a far better background in all the basics.
