The US stock market

Hello Everyone

Yesterday saw all three "markets" close in the "Green" with the Dow hitting new highs (17221.11) after the "good" NAHB Housing Market Index result, before setting a new "closing bell" record.

Today sees the Building Permits, Unemployment Claims and Housing Starts at 1.30pm (BST) before Fed Chair Yellen Speaks at 1.45pm (BST) followed by Philly Fed Manufacturing Index 3pm (BST) and the Natural Gas Storage 3.30pm (BST) most if not all having a "Forecast" of some downward thinking. ;)

Hello Everyone

Fridays "close" had that mix feeling again, with both the Nasdaq and S&P 500 ending in the "Red" while the Dow made it a record "Green" finish.

Today kicks the week off with the Existing Home Sales due at 3pm (BST) "Forecast" is looking good, so any "Red" in the "Actual" might be enough for a sell-off.

Close of trading:

The Dow Jones Global Indexes: 17279.74 +13.75 (+0.08%)

Nasdaq Composite Index: 4579.79 -13.64 (-0.30%)

The S&P 500 Index: 2010.40 -0.96 (-0.05%)

Gold hit its lowest point of the year earlier today (1208.13).

Current price: 1214.87

Good luck

Hello Everyone

After the "Red" result of yesterdays Existing Home Sales the sell-off did indeed kick in forcing all three "markets" to close in the "Red" themselves.

Today I'd hold off until after the 4 data reports come in before judging the movement in today's "Stocks".
The US Flash Manufacturing PMI at 2.45pm (BST) looks interesting with a good "Forecast" predicted, so "Green or Red" might just push the markets in the same direction.

Close of trading:

The Dow Jones Global Indexes: 17172.68 -107.06 (-0.62%)

Nasdaq Composite Index: 4527.69 -52.10 (-1.14%)

The S&P 500 Index: 1994.29 -16.11 (-0.80%)

Gold continues to show a bit of recovery from this years new lowest point, to move to its current price: 1224.94

Good luck

Hello Everyone

Once again all three "markets" ended in the "Red" after a poor "Red" result in the Flash Manufacturing PMI data.

New Home Sales at 3pm (BST) showing a good "Forecast" could once again fall if any "Red" appears thereafter.

Close of trading:

The Dow Jones Global Indexes: 17055.87 -116.81 (-0.68%)

Nasdaq Composite Index: 4508.69 -19.00 (-0.42%)

The S&P 500 Index: 1982.77 -11.52 (-0.58%)

Gold hit a 1235.02 high during yesterdays trading before closing at 1223.09, as it tries to head towards my target:
Any continuation upward to 1260 could see a 1380 target reached (120 points).

Current price: 1233.81

Good luck

After a good result in the New Home Sales data yesterday, all three "markets" closed in the "Green".

Today with the Durable Goods Orders m/m & Unemployment Claims 1.30 pm (BST) and Flash Services PMI 2.45 pm (BST) all "Forecasting" not so good, it could be a day of sell-offs, if all goes to plan.

Nasdaq Composite Index: 4555.22 +46.53 (+1.03%)

Hello Everyone

Yesterday "all went to plan" as all three "markets" took the fall after another day of bad data results.

Two of the main data reports (Final GDP q/q 1.30pm & Revised UoM Consumer Sentiment 2.55pm both BST) today favor the "Forecast" so hold on to your hats if its another "Red" showing.

Close of trading:

The Dow Jones Global Indexes: 16945.80 -264.26 (-1.54%)

Nasdaq Composite Index: 4466.75 -88.47 (-1.94%)

The S&P 500 Index: 1965.99 -32.31 (-1.62%)

Gold closed up at 1221.28 after earlier hitting an all year low (1206.84)

Current price: 1222.73

Good luck

Hello Everyone

All three "Markets" finished the week off in the "Green" as the Final GDP q/q & Consumer Sentiment showed a little of the "feel good" factor.

Early data results (1.30pm BST) might lift the "Markets" higher if the "Forecasts" are correct, but the Pending Home Sales m/m 3pm (BST) could have the opposite effect.

Close of trading:

The Dow Jones Global Indexes: 17113.15 +167.35 (+0.99%)

Nasdaq Composite Index: 4512.19 +45.45 (+1.02%)

The S&P 500 Index: 1982.85 +16.86 (+0.86%)

Gold closed (Friday) at 1217.68 having earlier hit a three day high (1231.17).

Current price: 1218.75

Good luck

Hello Everyone

After the "good" then "bad" data results (as posted yesterday) it ended in another "Red" day all round for the "Markets".

If all data "Forecasts" looking on the bleak side today, there might be another sell-off on the way.

The Dow Jones Global Indexes: 17071.22 -41.93 (-0.25%)

Nasdaq Composite Index: 4505.85 -6.34 (-0.14%)

Gold continues to float around the 1210-1225 mark as it can't seem to make up its mind what direction to go in.

Current price: 1218.27

Good luck

Nasdaq Composite Index: 4493.39 -12.46 (-0.28%)
