well that's the thing... i stayed on demo for a very short time, not because i was good, but because i quickly realized there was no real sting of pain when losing fake money... i just couldn't bring myself to care. so an important teacher was not present, which prompted me to move on to using real cash and of course losing it, ,again and again, until the pain would become unbearable and until suddenly i would learn my lesson, bring down the walls of insanity inside my psyche that were putting obstacles on the path to success. it was that or more pain. when faced with that kind of choice, unless you enjoy pain, you quickly learn to reduce said pain.
bottom line: pain is a great teacher. ask any buddhist monk. ;-)
that is why i'd recommend to start with a live account ASAP, after of course, learning the technical basics on demo first.
