Problem (Resolution at end of this message)
[Hi,
I joined etoro about a month ago after doing a few demo trades in the demo account.
The demo account was perfect, and fast, and efficient, and together with the ease of use and understanding, I decided to open a real account. The help desk promised that a real account platform is much faster and efficient, and the demo is only used for newbies and testers.
However, after opening the account, it proved to be the opposite. I started facing troubles from the first day itself. The interface gets stuck every once in a while, it gets disconnected, the charts show different data, etc.
While I lost my whole money through my first deposit, I didn't lose hope and faith, and with persuasion form my account manager, I put more money, by promise that the platform will be improved. But no, in fact, it turned out worse, and again I lost money due to faulty inteface. I had made some profits, but eventually, I ended up losing more than $250 due to their interface problem alone.
Upon submitting proof of interface problems, I was incorrectly critisiced as tampering with proof and editing screen shots in photoshop to obtain lost money. In all, I lost almost $2000 at etoro, but I took the blame for most losses, and just required a $250 refund that happened due to the interface problem. But they refused and asked me to deposit more money to trade, which is very unfair.
I have attached a few screen shots, and it clearly shows the difference in charts and the interface getting stuck in between, which I cannot reproduce in a photoshop. But etoro claims they have been tampered with.
Now that I haven't received $250 refund, I am going to be asking them $825, which is my deposits (minus my profits, I am not looking to seek/refund the profits, which comes to around another $1000 or more). Will I be able to get this refunded, or should I go for my lost money only?
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Vinith]
Resolution:
After discussing the issue with my account manager at eToro, I came to the conclusion that it was all a misunderstanding. eToro's support checked what I sent them and showed me that a part of it was due to technical problems on their side and a part was because of my side.
eToro took responisibility for the technical problems on their side and compensated me for the amount that was lost because of the technical issues.
I thank my account manager for his help on this one and I have to say my impression of eToro improved because of this story. I saw that their support department is helpful and together we solved the issue, however, not as quick as I expected.
I would say after all this, eToro was willing to help, for which I will continue trading with them.
