Do you like high leverage?

Liking leverage is one thing but being able to manage it while trading is totally different. No beginner should be going in with high leverage no matter how good their strategy seems or how skilled they think they are. Leverage is something that adds risk and a new trader needs to be very careful with the risk they are taking. Even experienced traders make costly mistakes by using high leverage so it’s something that should be used in limits.

I do not dislike high leverage itself, but I dislike what it does to trader behavior. Most people become careless the moment they know the broker offers huge buying power. Low exposure and strict position sizing matter much more than the leverage number on the account

Leverage like double edge sword which can cut both of the sides and therefore it should be kept lower in any manner because it feels tempting to make good returns in short term whereas it blows up account more faster than any other factor.

hello guys
I'm considering using a high leverage for almost the first time, I'm talking about something like 1:1000 or higher, so what do you think? what leverage would you suggest?
Honestly, 1:1000 is scary. Even pros rarely touch that without strict rules. Start lower and focus on consistency first.

There are some more scarier options too in the market like 1:3000 offered by some brokers which seems pretty unrealistic in my opinion.

1:1000 leverage is a massive adrenaline rush, i remember getting hooked on that feeling when i first started too, feeling like u own the market with pocket change. but it’s like driving a supercar—the higher the leverage, the less room u have to correct ur mistakes. i blew thru accounts back then cuz i confused 'buying power' with actual risk management. if u really wanna go for it, treat leverage as a tool, not a get-rich-quick scheme. staying in the game is all about strict position sizing and discipline, not chasing some huge number on ur screen.

I think you’ve heard about all these risk precautions such as “leverage is a double edge sword”, “leverage is two way street” and etc. Indeed, it is. If you really want to trade seriously without relying on luck, use no more that it’s necessary to meet lot requirements and fit your RR. I’d say 1:100 max. Or gamble with 1:1000. You decide.
